Jack Hart is a young civil litigator in 1990s Seattle. He has a tendency to wander into trouble, and chaos ensues.
I wrote the first four Jack Hart novels twenty years ago when I was beginning my legal career in Seattle. I was trying to entertain my mom, who was homebound in Salt Lake City and dissatisfied with the books my dad was bringing her from the library.
I stopped writing after the fourth book, when I moved home to care for my parents as their health declined. I published the novels only recently, after my parents passed away.
I'm working on the next three Jack Hart novels - tentatively titled One Good Turn, For Better, For Worse, and Gone For Good. I'm also working on a new series about an in-house attorney who turns her problem-solving skills to detection. Check out my blog for sample chapters of my work in progress.
It's hard to remember where everything was during Jack Hart's heyday.
I would love to hear your favorite memories of pre-WTO protest Seattle.
Please drop me a note about your favorite restaurants, places, and people from Seattle in the 1990s. I might use it in my next book!
Blacktop Wasteland: S.A. Cosby's second novel is sensational, a careening heist story that begs to be made into a movie. The South's best wheelman is trying to go straight but may not be able to resist the fatal lure of one last big job.
East of Hounslow: First in Rahman Khurrum's incredible Jay Qasim spy thriller series, this tale of a low-level London drug dealer turned reluctant jihadist is funny, gritty, fast-paced and relevant.
